Back of the Netty's.

Today we are celebrating the wonderful world of cake with our friend Jeannette and her lovely little cake company Netty's Cakes. In the wedding world you get to know all kinds of wonderful people from florists to chair decorators, beauticians and my favourite cake designers. I like to call Jeannette a designer because she is just that. It only take a few scrolls through her Facebook page to see that her cakes are more than just cakes they are works of art. You think it she can bake it.

Nestled away in the West Yorkshire countryside you can find a picturesque cottage and behind those walls is the inner workings of Netty's Cakes. So what do we know about this cake genius. Well after a long 20 year career in an office job that clearly was not plucking those creative strings, Jeannette took a complete career turn. Taking what used to be just a bit of fun, making birthday cakes for her son, she jumped into turning her passion for cake mix into a successful and thriving full time job.

We meet lots of couples during their planning stages of their wedding and we can confidently recommend Jeannette as we know her expertise will surprise and delight even the fussiest of pallets. Here's just one example of Netty's work as she provided the cake for our very own Tracy and Dean. With their passion for their Pug pups they wanted to not only invite their doggies to their big day but also adorn them in pride of place on their cake. It looks too good to eat, well almost :)

Now this cake makes me want to reach into the computer and pinch some of that lovely smooth icing, simply divine! Jay and Roopa took our recommendation and hired Netty's cake for their indulgent and vibrant wedding and the cake matched that perfectly. Jay and roopa's wedding was certainly a feast for the senses with sensational dresses to gorgeous decorations their cake was somewhat understated yet intricate in it's design. I'm sure it tasted fabulous too.

As I thumb through her images on her Facebook page it's not just your traditional cakes I'm seeing far from it. I'm finding flat caps inspired by Peaky Blinders, the old classic Henry Hoover, shark infested water cake circa Jaws ere all the way to mind bending Mad Hatters Tea party influenced cakery. Like I said before you name it she could probably create it.

What is undeniably evident is that Jeannette absolutely loves what she does and her eye for detail is second to non.

Another of our lovely couples Jane and Mark enlisted Netty's to deliver this sublime centre piece with it's delicate flowers and sweeping silk like icing. It must have been difficult to break into this beautiful creation.

Jeanette comes highly recommended as I read through her many reviews here are just a few...

"Brilliant, friendly service from the very start to the finished product. Our ideas were brought to life by this extremely talented lady who made us feel at ease throughout. The cake and the flavours tasted amazing as well!"

"my wife got my 50th birthday cake in the shape of my land rover and she

also made our amazing wedding cake both were amazing and delicious"

"I got a Marvel cake made for my boyfriends 21st, was brilliant and tasted amazing! Can't wait to see my baby shower cake in a few weeks, thank you so much!"

I could talk all day about Netty's cakes because I have tasted first hand just how delectable they really are, especially her melt in the mouth Macarons, just to die for. But I will leave you today with this image...

Is it just an opportunistic tarantula that likes the look of Netty's cakes or is it in fact a Tarantula cake?

Hmm cake anyone?
