Fiona & Matthew got married in May 2024 at the Black Horse in Clifton.
I have never done a wedding at the Black Horse before. It is a charming 17th-century venue which is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony. The features of this property give it Old Worlde Charm. https://bertsroomsandevents.co.uk
We started off the photography with a pre-wedding shoot, which is included for free in our packages. Fiona and Matthew chose the Black Horse Inn as the location for this.
Within walking distance from the Black Horse Inn, there are lovely country walks. There were some soggy parts which we chose to avoid, but Fiona and Matthew were happy to go where we needed to. Both Fiona and Matthew were really relaxed during the pre-wedding shoot. This can be seen as awkward as most people are not used to having their photo taken, but we managed to get some great photos.
So, the big day. I couldn't believe how relaxed Fiona and Matthew were, both taking it in there stride. The Black Horse Inn allowed me to capture getting ready shots of Fiona and quickly get shots of Matt and his grooms men.
The Ceremony, also at the Black Horse was in the it can hold up to 60 guests, the lighting was cosy and allowed for some intimate shots of Fiona and Matthew.
After the ceremony was the confetti shot, this always provides a great chance to capture the newly weds relief that they got through the vows and can enjoy the day.
While all the guests were in the same location, it was the best chance to get the group shot. The Courtyard at the Black Horse Inn is the perfect size for smaller group shots.
So the guests can all enjoy their day now and it was time to take Fiona and Matthew for some photos. Again, we chose the same spots that we used for the pre-wedding shoot, but because Fiona had her amazing white wedding dress, we didn't venture as far as we did on the pre-wedding shoot.
Before the Wedding Breakfast were the speeches. I find it's always good to get these done first as it allows the people doing the speeches to enjoy their meal after the speeches rather than worrying about the speeches afterwards.
While the guests were having their Wedding Breakfast, I took this time to capture ring and wedding cake shots.
This is where my day ended and I left Fiona and Matthew to enjoy the rest of thier day and evening celebrations.
I found this to be a perfect location at the Black Horse Inn for a cosy wedding and I would love to do future weddings at this venue.
I wish Fiona and Matthew many years of happiness. You were a great couple to work with.
