Our facebook followers will have noticed that we took a little trip away recently up to the beautiful countryside of Northumberland. The primary reason for the getaway was to photograph the wedding of Naomi and Tony. As we have visited the area before we just had to take the chance to go there again and tag a mini break onto it.
The Treehouse located at Alnwick Castle offers an unusual and magical experience whether it be for a quick cup of coffee to a private function. With it's wobbly rope bridges (that Penelope hated and needed Daddy to carry her across) to it's wonderfully festive twinkle lights I can totally see why they chose this venue to exchange their vows.
Inside the treehouse restaurant itself you really feel like you are sat up high in the arms of the tree. It's spindly and winding branches covered in lights and sympathetically made furniture, also made out of polished wood is cozy and romantic. The roaring fire in the center of the room just draws you in. It really is like a beautifully created birds nest. I joked with James that if we were to ever renew our vows it would have to be there.
Naomi and Tony's album is still being completed so I'm not going to give anymore away but what I can say is it's going to be worth the wait. Congratulations you two!
We stayed a little way out from Alnwick in a quiet village called Wooler. We stayed in a caravan. We've done caravan trips before, we've braced the British cold weather on the east coast and enjoyed surprisingly warm spring times in the Lake district but we have never done a caravan trip with a dog before, until now. Yes welcome our newest member of the family...... Wilson. He joined us at 16 weeks old, he's an adorably cute shoe destroyer sorry I mean black Labrador and it's like he's always been with us.
Well who could resist that face
This was Wilson's first ever holiday and he loved it. We were lucky with glorious weather which meant we could let him enjoy the beach, go for long walks and meet other doggie friends along the way. As you can see he's already a complete natural in front of the camera. Whilst Penelope is our muse I'm pretty certain Wilson will be helping us and starring in his own show, the Penelope and Wilson show perhaps?
We visited the lovely town of Craster home of the kipper. They are still prepared in the traditional way in oak smoked barrels and you can smell them on the air as you get closer. We took a picnic and let Wilson rest his young legs while we enjoyed coffee out of a flask and Penny ate her body weight in jammie dodgers! The view was just lovely overlooking the sea. We were even lucky enough to spot a seal playing with it's catch just in the shallow waters. If you're ever in that direction we would recommend you take a look.
It really was great to have a bit of down time before the season gets into full swing. We are looking like we have quite a busy year ahead and on that note would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that continues to show their support, make recommendations to their friends and family about us and like and share our work on social media. We now have over 500 likes on Facebook which is a great achievement for our small company so to celebrate this we are offering a massive 20% off all packages on bookings made in March. You may have seen the Facebook ad ;)if not then it looks a little like this...
I hear Wilson is chewing something he shouldn't so I will leave it there but before I do, keep an eye out on our website for all updated content from j-foto & j-foto Kidz and soon we will be revealing more from our Love in a Treehouse wedding.
