Nia and Joe chose the stunning Riverlands Barn Wedding Venue for their big day! It's the perfect spot for those seeking an authentic and rustic experience. Nestled near the beautiful Trent Falls, these wedding barns are truly idyllic and one-of-a-kind!
But hold your horses, because before the big day, we had the pre-wedding shoot. This was the perfect opportunity to hang out with Nia and Joe and give them a little sneak peek of the photographic magic awaiting their wedding day. Now, usually, people can be a bit jittery about these shoots, but not these two. They were as relaxed as a cat in the sun. Maybe it's my calming presence—or maybe, just maybe, they're the epitome of a cool, laid-back couple. Yeah, let's stick with that one!
So, the big day finally rolled around, and for October, the weather was showing off like it was auditioning for a weather calendar. I hopped out of my car and did my usual detective stroll, scouting for the prime hangout spots. Then, it was off to see Nia and her squad. Talk about a hive of activity! It was buzzing with excitement, and the makeup and hair pros were working their magic
After hanging out with the girls for a spell, it was time to check in with the dudes. I heard some commotion and strolled through a massive gate into an even bigger garden, where the guys were just living their best lives, kicking around a football and smashing some table tennis. Should I remind them there's a wedding today? Nah, they've got it all under control... I think!
The boys were in no rush to get ready; they were just chilling. So, I dashed back to the girls' house. Just to clarify, the girls' and boys' houses were basically next-door neighbours, so don't imagine me doing a marathon between them.
Now it was time for the boys to get ready, so I dashed—well, more like waddled—back to the boys' house to catch Joe in the act of getting ready. This place was as peaceful as a yoga retreat, with everything totally under control... for now!
Once the guys were all set, we strutted out to snap some pics. These guys knew how to work it like pros!
Back at the girls' house, everyone was primed and prepped, and Nia was looking like a million dollars in her dress. Then came the moment for Angus, Nia's dad, to lay eyes on her in the wedding dress for the very first time. Did Angus turn into a blubbering mess at the sight of his gorgeous daughter? You bet he did. That's exactly what these photos are here to capture!
Alright, people, let's cut to the chase—the moment we've all been waiting for! It's Nia and Joe's big day at the stunning Riverlands. Picture this: I was trailing Nia as she made her grand entrance towards the barn, where the magic was about to happen. Snapped a pic of her and her dad, Angus, who was beaming with pride. Then, I waltzed in to check out the guests and caught a glimpse of Joe, looking snazzy and ready to tie the knot in his fancy wedding get-up.
The ceremony was a rollercoaster of emotions, with tissues flying and smiles beaming! Proud mum Annette was like a peacock watching her daughter tie the knot, a monumental day for Annette and Angus and Joe's parents Sally and Grant. There were giggles, happy sniffles, and then the big moment: "You may kiss your bride!" Bam! They were officially Mr. and Mrs., sealing it with a smooch!
If you've been brave enough to dive into my previous blogs, then you know the next stage is the grand confetti explosion followed by the obligatory group photo. Picture this: a never-ending conga line of people waiting for their confetti shower. Meanwhile, I'm doing the moonwalk in reverse, desperately trying not to face-plant while capturing everyone getting buried in colourful paper bits.
Once everything was wrapped up, people could finally kick back and enjoy the day. The tight-knit families were thrilled to snap some smaller group pics. Then, with Nia and Joe grooving like pros, I whisked them away for a photo session while Mr. Sun was still playing nice with us.
Next up, Nia and Joe were set to make their epic entrance into the Barn for the wedding breakfast—cue the trumpets! But hold your horses, because first, it was speech time. That's right, get ready for a rollercoaster of laughs, tears, and every awkward moment in between! They were also a special message from Zante Geezer, who is a bit of a celebrity in Zante.
Everything was going perfectly, but wait! What's this? A waiter has just tripped up and dropped all his cutlery.
This was the grand debut of the waiter—or should I say, the singing waiter's—spectacular show. Let me tell you, he sang his way right into a hefty tip jar. He had everyone shocked and roped the entire party into his musical antics. Then, he got the groomsmen up to master some dance moves. It was the perfect way to keep all the guests buzzing like bees at a flower festival. Then everybody joined in on a conga. Brilliant fun.
As the evening settled in, people were kicking back, having a blast, and oh! let's snap a few more glam shots of Nia and Joe!
As the sun set, it was time to boogie down in the barn at the Riverlands. First on the dance floor was proud dad Angus, showing off his moves with his newly hitched daughter. Then came Nia and Joe, twirling under an arch of eager onlookers, grooving through their first dance.
As the party really started to groove, it was time for everyone to jump in and show off their moves. And just to jazz things up, a saxophonist was there to add a sprinkle of musical magic!
This day was so spectacular, it should have its own theme song! I'd happily crash more weddings at the Riverlands Wedding Barn just to relive it. Nia and Joe are such an awesome duo, surrounded by friends and family who not only welcomed me with open arms but also with open plates. Who could say no to that?
Huge congrats to you two and your adorable little family! You guys totally deserve a life filled with giggles and joy. Keep laughing, smiling and having a blast!
